The year 2008 has just ended, and the new one has just begun......there's supposed to be wisdomous (borrowed from my son's creative vocab) words, resolutions...and the like. Alas, I have none as I am still in starstruck awe over the achievements of my two stooges (er...that would be my genes they inherited, I mean the stooge part. Wait, maybe the achievement part as well if one should care to ponder over that issue...heh heh heh!).
After all, what else can I be when I am over-brimming with pride over the achievements of both the joys of my life for attaining excellent results in both the UPSR and PMR exams respectively. It was indeed a glorious moment both in November and December when results were announced. A euphoric parent with equally euphoric children, especially so when results were actually beyond our own expectations, albeit that they had both worked hard with the right amount of attitude put in.
My greatest glory is not as much the results (though that also counted!) as their ability to be disciplined and their attitude towards work when serious work is paramount. As a parent, that comes as the greatest prize of all in parenting which reward enables us to endure all the work and sweat, tears and fears - that makes it all worth it, and pat our own back for a job well done.
At the end of 2008, it is indeed no small feat that I can lay claim that I have wonderful children (teenagers no less, mind you) - who I can truly laugh, cry, work, chat, play and practically do everything together with(serious or otherwise). A truly satisfied and proud mum who would not have and will not change anything even when given the choice to reverse the time to do so.
May we all - friends, family, acquaintances and the like - sail into 2009 with peace, joy, health and love................
